If your computer is unresponsive shortly after booting, and you have Microsoft Updates installed then you need this fix.
Download and install this file then reboot. If your computer is rendered useless and you cannot install this file then boot into safe mode, goto the control panel, then Automatic updates and disable it. Boot the computer normally, install this update, then reactivate automatic updates.

Increases the number of concurrent connections IE will open to a server. This should speed up the downloading of webpages so long as you are on a broadband connection. DO NOT USE FOR SLOW CONNECTIONS. Anything under 384K is slow.
For Service Pack 2. Put this file in your /windows/system32 folder to allow the use of custom msstyles (themes). You will need to use Replacer to do so.
Use this tool to replace protected system files like uxtheme.dll. Just unzip to a directory on your C:/ Drive, run Replacer.cmd and follow the instructions in the DOS window. Make sure your replacement file is on the C:/ Drive or it may not work. Consult the readme for more information.
