What's New? IdentityCurve 2!

E-mail Print PDF
So it’s been over a year since I created IdentityCurve for use on my site. I finally got bored and decided it was time for a change. For the past two evenings I have been working on the sequel and well, you’re looking at it. I’ll be working the bugs out here in the live site as I have time, but I would love to hear your comments. A public release is planned, but not soon.

Introducing IdentityCurve

Most of you have probably ran across this site for my MamboCurve and JoomlaCurve templates. I know its been a long time since I have updated it, but I plan to do so with the next major release of Joomla.

Needing a change from the JoomlaCurve template, I created IdentityCurve. I have been using it on this site for almost a year, but never got around to publically releasing it. Well today was that day.

You can download it here or just goto the Downloads section of this site.

Good Bye Powweb, Hello HostGator

As the weeks progressed I started having problems with FTP being slow, sites being either really slow or 404. As a loyal Powweb customer I hung in as long as I could, but the straw that broke the camels back was their 60 second script rule when it came to uploading and downloading files from a PHP front end like Joomla or Gallery. If you couldn't upload/download within 60 seconds your connection was killed.

Numerous requests to have this removed on the support forums were ignored, and when that limitation affected me, I decided to bail.

Saving Unsigned Root Certificate

ImageThere seems to be some confusion on the net in regards to setting up Exchange ActiveSync on Windows Mobile phones.  By default, Exchange 2003 will require SSL and if the Exchange administrator does not buy a root certificate for the server he/she can install a "self signed" cert.  When a self signed cert is in place, users will be prompted to "trust" the root certificate of the server, allowing you to proceed to the webpage/resource.  Internet Explorer is configured to trust certain certificates, depending on who genertated them, Verisign, GeoTrust etc.
